80% of all Questions are Statements in Disguise

That quote is by Dr. Phil.

Ah, Facebook.  I must preface that I went to have a beer or two for my guy friend's birthday.  I haven't written about him at all.  I went with every intention of staying for a bit and then leaving so I could meet my girlfriends on the east side - very Sex and the City. When Shadow showed up 'cause she knew his friend, and then I called Cedes to join us since she lived up the street, well, all we needed was  just one more - Miss J - to join so we could still fulfill our ladies night among mutual friends.

Now I went on my friend's page to see if he had posted the silly, birthday celebration pictures only to be greeted with this from his girlfriend:
Happy Birthday!! Wish I was there celebrating with you!!!!

You know it's funny because I remember my friend trying to type on his phone...in present company.  I was trying to make small talk about his lady asking how things were going and I tried to offer up my "I get it."   However, I also think it's funny that he was trying to express himself to her while (dare I mention) he sat and told me that things weren't going too well with his long-distance lady-friend. I guess we all project things are going well even if they aren't.

It took all self-control (upon seeing this) not to comment, "Really? His tongue didn't wish you were there when he attacked my face", but alas, I'm not in high school.  Did he miss you while he was trying to have a serious conversation about 'us' (ala a year ago, the last time I have kissed or wanted to kiss that man) suddenly asking, "What I want from him?"; telling me how much he missed me and was so glad I was there.  I tried to explain to my friend that "we" were done a long time ago and I just don't want to play the game anymore.  He doesn't want to be with me, he told me time and time again before.  I didn't listen then but I finally got it, so WTF?  He has only ever wanted her, and I've known that since I first met him 2 1/2, 3 years ago.  That being said, my dear friend Cedes was right!!!

He's trying to make a go with her but he's trying to be chummy with me (since we both live in the same state) to keep me at bay which is totally not fair.  You can't have you cake and eat it too, even if you don't know what kind of cake you want.  Ugh, it's all so maddeningly confusing!  Why did he kiss me?  Why did he pick a fight?  Why did he want to talk about something that he claimed he never wanted?
